Detailed Description

Time Management for Students is an interactive, multi-media CD-ROM designed to introduce you to selected concepts of Time Management. The tutorial comprises 5 sessions, each with a number of lessons to help you learn, practice, and apply the strategies covered. Here's a look at what each session contains:

Introduction and Overview

This section shows you how to use the CD by reviewing its navigation features.


Time Awareness.

This section introduces concepts such as importance, urgency, effectiveness, and efficiency and describes how understanding them can help you deal more effectively with time.


Goal Setting

This section will define what goals are and why you need to set a variety of goals to be an effective time manager. It describes how to set long-term and short-term goals. Then, you can go through the process of setting both long- and short-term goals yourself.


Planning Tools

This section talks about a variety of paper-based planning tools that can help you use your time effectively. The monthly planner, the weekly planner, the weekly objectives list, the time tracking sheet and the weekly summary of time use form will be introduced along with tips on how to use these effectively.


Time Difficulties

This section helps you resolve a number of difficulties people face that make it difficult to manage time effectively on a day to day basis. Lineups, commuting, time between classes, interruptions, procrastination, balancing time, following a plan, and disorganization are all discussed in-depth with tips on how to handle these obstacles when they arise.
