The Assassinby Ross L. Barber
[Thriller]
Cockney schoolboy, Johnny Feltham, has only ever wanted one thing: he longs to be a soldier. At 18 he enlists in the British Army. His positive attitude and potential soon catch his commanding officer's eye. When he is offered a chance to apply to the SAS, Feltham grabs the chance. Six months later he is one of the few in the corps to make it through the assessment. He flourishes in the SAS and cheats fate until 1995, where he is wounded during a mission. While he recovers 98% of his mobility, that unfortunately doesn't cut it in the SAS and is subsequently discharged. Disenchanted with a military that trained him to be an 'expert killer', a killer who executes women and children when it suits him, he gets his Green Card and travels to New York City where he sets up his own security franchise. He is soon visited by a man working for the anonymous and infamous Mr. Smith. Feltham beings his new career under a "contract of unspecified duration and unlimited remuneration" doing what he does best - killing. His lethal exploits soon earn him the title of 'The Assassin". He is ruthlessly pursued by the NYPD and FBI and is always one step ahead of them, until, after a series of twists and turns, fate intervenes.
