It’s funny. I grew up in a completely different environment than Jake Miller did, but I could relate to many of the stories personally. Just as a quick example, I now understand the erratic, sometimes seemingly psychotic behavior of my first dog-also named Tiger. Jake brings an insight that solves a 30 year mystery for me.
Fisherwife is a great collection of stories for anyone who has any appreciation for the outdoors or human nature. A great read and reread to bring a smile to your face, even after the toughest of days!

Jake Miller is fantastic author who weaves details into his stories which allow you to see the scenery and characters as if you were actually there watching it. I opened the book to scan through it and ended up reading it cover to cover in one setting. I couldn't put it down once I started reading.

Jake Miller's stories of his life spent savouring the outdoors come through as well-written and illustrative, painting a clear picture for the reader. 'Fisherwife' is a breezy collection of tales delivered as if Miller was recalling his adventures directly to you, just as he would to any friend over the campfire. A Highly amusing and lighthearted read in which moments of quiet reflection are skillfully balanced with hilarious events.

You don't have to have spent most of your existence outdoors to enjoy this book. If you've never spent any time away from the city, you'll still find youself smiling. If you've spent any time in the country at all, you'll almost be able to hear the birds chirping, and feel the insects biting... all with a huge grin on your face and a chuckle. Very well done!

Jake the adventurer is a man’s man. Born in New Caney, Texas back in 1955, he spent his life working around his family’s homestead. He lived in the country, so it was easy for him to wander the woods and rivers in the surrounding area. Mr. Miller joined the Navy at the age of seventeen and spent four years as an aviation electrician. Honorably discharged in 1976, he spent the rest of his time as a rancher and now lives in San Antonio. Having always been a storyteller, his friends finally convinced him to compile some of them into a book.
This is one hilarious volume from the first to the last page. It caught me right from the beginning and didn’t let up till the last page of its short 96-page length. Hunting stories like the description of his deer hunting in “Spike Buck,” or “Lost;” brought back comical memories of my own hunting experiences. The worse fears of any hunter are realized in “Spike Buck” when you realize your game is still kicking; or, to be lost in the woods and chased by a mean bull. Then there is the tale of “The Hunting Bag,” that major piece of hunting equipment that is second only to the gun.
The hunting stories are funny but the fishing stories take the cake. To be outdone by your wife is a fisherman’s worst nightmare. In “Fisherwife,” Jake relates the story of the first time he took his wife on a fishing trip to the Gulf of Mexico.
Jake Miller, outdoorsman extraordinaire. His hunting, fishing and outdoor experiences are some of the funniest I have ever heard. His stories are well compiled, very well told and unusually funny. The quality of the publishing is very nicely done and the only off-beat thing I can comment on is the cover art. I don’t know what a beautiful pair of legs in a pool has to do with fishing, hunting, or the outdoors but to be honest; it was cute!
I fully enjoyed “Fisherwife or Aquatic Euthanasia” and gave it my highest A+ rating. It was a joy to read and I recommend it to any and all age groups.

A great read for any outdoors man or woman. I laughed all the way through. What is nice about it is that it does not all pertain to one sport - there is a little something for everyone here. A great little book to brighten up any sportsman\'s day! Makes a great gift for your hunter or fisherman, any athlete, golfer... you name it. Straight from the heart of a true cowboy - great job, Jake!
