About the Author

Keith Gilpatrick

Keith has over thirty years of diversified international and domestic business experience encompassing auditing, consulting, operations management, ISO9000, Lean Enterprise/Manufacturing, and Six Sigma. Throughout his professional career Keith has kept himself on the forefront of the latest management and business operations practices through hands-on involvement, self-study programs and educational programs offered by various educational institutions such as the John F. Kennedy School of Government. Keith facilitated the implementation of Lean Enterprise at several Invensys plants, a British based Multi-national Corporation. Keith was responsible for the development of Lean Enterprise education materials for self-study as well as group presentations. Keith was involved in Lean Enterprise for several years both domestically and internationally. During his last two years with Invensys Keith served as Director of Lean Operations for the international subsidiaries of the Metering Division which had manufacturing operations in Germany (2), England, France, Spain, Slovakia, India, Morocco, Belgium, Thailand, and China.

Brian Furlong

Brian is a seasoned, senior executive with 30 years experience in manufacturing and finance. Working domestically and internationally for major companies such as Emerson, Westinghouse, Invensys and National Westminster Bank, Brian has in-depth knowledge of manufacturing and administrative processes. He has directed projects to start up plants in England, Ireland, Thailand and Mexico and has completed acquisitions in England, China and India. He is a passionate advocate of Lean Enterprise, having successfully completed implementation in numerous facilities in the United States, Mexico, Europe and Asia. Brian has been recognized for strong organization-building and leadership skills and for his ability to achieve continuous improvement through high levels of personal involvement. He is highly motivated, energetic and focused on ensuring that organizations achieve maximum profitability though effective management of the value-stream.
