An intriguing story... actually, a story wrapping around a bunch of stories, as the book tells of how a telephone counsellor deals with a number of cases at a distress line call centre. Interesting twist in the story is that the counsellor is swaying these people towards suicide as a way of getting rid of the less than desirable elements in society. I never thought I'd read such a unique plot. The cases are interesting, the people seem real, and the doctor changes from an innocent participant to one real sick man. I enjoyed the climactic ending as the doctor is confronted by an ex-patient priest.

A good psychological mind twisting book! I found myself wanting to know the story of the next patient and what psychotic-ness the doctor would come up with next! A great read!
