Certified Scrum Masters (CSMs) can be found in abundance in many cities, as Scrum training courses and CSM certification have been successfully deployed to the community over the past several years. Early on, having a CSM was a mark of distinction for those who hold it, marking them as experts in the use of Scrum. More recently, however, businesses have expressed concerns that the Scrum training, while useful, is incomplete; for example, Scrum does not address important issues such as testing/quality. Business recently has been seeking something else that can show that a CSM has a more rounded education in how Scrum works in the real world, such as in large organizations where governance, metrics, and enterprise standards have a larger influence on a Scrum project.
This 1-day course upgrades existing CSMs with the additional project management training they need to know how to manage Scrum projects in complex organizational environments. The course bridges the gap between standard CSM training and the full 3-day agile project management training required by the Project Management Association of Canada to write its Certified Agile Project Manager (Cert.APM) exam. This course has been accredited by the PMAC (a process involving independent practitioner and academic reviews) as meeting its standards and (along with the CSM certification) fulfilling the education requirements to write the Cert.APM exam.
This course session is being held in conjunction with the 2010 Annual General Meeting of the Project Management Association of Canada. Participants will gain free admission to the event on Sunday, December 11th (the day after the course) where they will have the opportunity to write the Cert.APM exam. The certification exam fee is $100 and can be paid via cheque or cash at the time of the examination. The exam fee includes a complimentary 6-month membership in the PMAC.
$495 per attendee (plus G.S.T. for Canadian residents). Early birds who register by 31 October 2010 will receive a $100 discount. Those wishing to write the Cert.APM exam after attending this course will also have to pay an additional $100 exam fee to the PMAC.
PLUS: All attendees will receive an in-class workbook containing copies of the presentation materials. Included in the workbook are a CD-ROM and one DVD. The CD-ROM contains the Agile Estimating and Planning Resource Kit with sample templates in MS Excel and MS Project formats plus the Agile Auction Game files (retails for $49.95 USD). The DVD contains the video Scrum in Under 10 Minutes - an excellent introduction for your project teams. Each student will also receive a copy of the best-selling book Managing Agile Projects, edited by Kevin Aguanno (retails for $39.95 USD). These bonus materials are a $100.00 value!
