Ever-Changing Requirements? Use Agile Methods to Reduce Project Risk

Description

This tutorial will outline the underlying principles of Agile Development and the details of how it differs from traditional development projects. It examines the practical application of some common agile techniques, sharing lessons learned from real projects.

An extension of Mr. Aguanno’s often-requested presentation “Agile Development Using Scrum,” this new presentation includes a comparison of other agile development methods, including Extreme Programming, Crystal method, and Feature Driven Development, among others. The seminar is peppered with lively stories from Mr. Aguanno’s experiences delivering real-world agile development projects.

Participants will come away from the presentation with a high-level understanding of the Agile Development philosophy and how it differs from traditional development approaches, a high-level familiarity with a number of available agile methods, an understanding of how to apply some agile techniques on their own projects, and the ability to determine when those techniques are appropriate.

Kevin Aguanno was a recent presenter at the CIPS Annual Conference INFORMATICS 2004, where he delivered a tutorial on "Ever-Changing Requirements? Use Agile Methods to Reduce Project Risk." Here is what some of our delegate had to say about his session:

  • "Delivered real educational value in the session"
  • "Excellent -- details his knowledge with real world situations"
  • "Excellent speaker"
  • "Excellent pace. A good overview of selected agile methods."

Of our delegates that attended Kevin's session, 96% recommended that he be invited back to present again.

As one of the main conference organizers, I personally found Kevin helped to make my job easy as he was very prompt in responding to my requests for speaker information.
